Devotional gatherings may be held in a local Bahá'í Center or in individual homes. Music, songs, and lighting may be used to create a meditative and reflective atmosphere. Meetings are open to all regardless of faith or creed. Participants share prayers and readings from the sacred scriptures. These gatherings can be as simple as a family gathering before the end of the day. Such meetings serve to awaken the spiritual nature of the participants and promote community life infused with the spirit of devotion.

Only through such an attitude can one derive that feeling of inner peace and contentment which the power of prayer alone can confer.” Shoghi Effendi
